Two young Pembrokeshire hockey players, who represented Wales at a major European championships this summer, have been awarded medals.
Chloe Sinnott, who attends Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard, and Sophie Rees, who goes to Sir Thomas Picton in Haverfordwest, played in the Under 18 Girls hockey squad at the Eurohockey Girls Under 18 Championships in Prague.
Teams from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Wales competed in the annual event, which was held in June.
Wales finished third and as a result has gained promotion into the Europa Division 1 next year.
The two players were presented with their medals at a recent Hockey Roadshow in Haverfordwest.
Angela Miles, Hockey Development Officer for Sport Pembrokeshire - the sports development arm of Pembrokeshire County Council - said she was delighted at the girls' achievement.
"Both girls train hard and play for their school teams and their local clubs - Fishguard & Goodwick and Haverfordwest, and both attended the under 17 performance development centre run by Sport Pembrokeshire last Autumn," she said.
"From this they were picked for the regional academy in Swansea where they were then selected for the Welsh squad."
"I'm thrilled that they have now been given medals for representing their country in a major championships
