Nine Pembrokeshire swimmers have been selected for the Welsh Squad this year.
The number of places being offered has halved, due to current economic conditions. However, the quality of swimmers selected has gone up.
Carys Thomas (Pembroke & District) was one of only three swimmers in whole of Wales to make the standard for the Welsh Youth Squad.
Hannah Saunders (Tenby Dolphins) swam inside the selection times for the Welsh Regional squad.
Dan Thomas (Pembroke & District), Dan Davies (Tenby Dolphins), Isabelle Davies (Pembroke & District), Ffion Davies (Tenby Dolphins), Jordan Harding (Haverfordwest Seals), Kelsey Williams (Haverfordwest Seals) and Amelia Davies (Fishguard Flyers) were all selected for the Welsh Skills squad based on their performances last year.
Next year will be interesting for the young performers, with the possibility of qualifying to enter Olympic trials.
All the swimmers will be involved in various training camps and competitions.
