The annual schools Boccia tournament was held yesterday (9th March) at Milford Haven Leisure Centre.
The event was organised by Sport Pembrokeshire in collaboration with Disability Sport Wales, and was sponsored by Chevron, from the Energy for Learning fund.
A total of 11 teams entered this year's competition. The teams were from Templeton CP School, Monkton Priory CP School, Portfield School, Pembroke School, Pembroke Autistic Centre, Milford Haven School, and Sir Thomas Picton School. The games were played in round robin groups.
The final of the primary competition was between Monkton and Templeton, with Templeton winning by 6 points to 2.
The secondary final was between the ‘Red Devils' from Pembroke Autistic Centre and ‘Pembroke Pirates' from Pembroke School, with the ‘Red Devils winning narrowly by 3 points to 2.
The games were refereed by Lionel Allen and Charles Hopkinson, Saundersfoot Rotarians, and Rhys Eynon from Pembrokeshire College.
The trophies were presented by Cllr Rob Lewis and Cllr Huw George who both commented on the high level of Boccia played.
